My resume doesn't really have what this position needs (ie. actual position as a YA librarian) but if it did, I would try for this in a heart beat. Just think, to be involved with library related initiatives for youth all around the world. Dreamy. :-)
YALSA is seeking personal members who are interested in representing YALSA on the following:
International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions’ (IFLA) Section on Libraries for Children & Young Adults.
International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions’ (IFLA) Section on Literacy & Reading.
One representative for each section will be selected by the ALA Executive Board to serve a four-year term from 2009-2013. YALSA personal members who are interested in representing YALSA on either section must submit their resumes to YALSA at yalsa@ala.org no later than May 16, 2008. Please be sure to put "IFLA Applicant" in the subject line and in your email message indicate what section you’re interested in serving on.
Qualifications
The applicant must:
Be a current YALSA member
Be an expert in the field covered by the section

Be fluent in at least one working language of IFLA (English is an IFLA working language)
Attend all IFLA conferences during his/her term of appointment. Expenses to attend IFLA meetings/conferences are the responsibility of the individual or his/her institution. IFLA, ALA and YALSA do not provide financial support.
Serve as a liaison between the IFLA Section and YALSA’s Board of Directors
Documentation
The ALA Executive Board requires that suggestions for nominations be accompanied by a resume. If appointed, IFLA requires that the following be provided:
An indication of acceptance of the nomination by the individual
A short statement detailing the nominee's qualifications and indication of present position
Affirmation that the person can fulfill the working language and travel requirements
Timeline
May 16, 2008 deadline to submit resume to YALSA for consideration
June 26 – July 2, 2008 YALSA’s Board of Directors meets and selects one applicant to recommend to the ALA Executive Board for appointment to each IFLA section
July ‘08, YALSA notifies applicants as to the status of their application
Oct. ‘08, ALA Executive Board meets and considers YALSA recommendation
Nov. ‘08, YALSA notifies applicants of ALA Executive Board’s decision
Jan. ‘09, Appointees begin representation on IFLA Sections
Aug. ‘09, Appointees represent YALSA at IFLA conference in Milan, Italy
